About Me

"The weather will be beautiful, the drinks will be cheap and the music will be cool. We will see you there." - John Haradker. This page is solely for the Northern Beaches Folk and Singer/Songerwriter Festival, an annual festival designed to showcase the performers from the Manly, Warringah and Pittwater areas of Sydney's Northern Beaches. The festival was first called the Manly Folk Festival when it was held at the Manly Fishos in 2002 and the Manly Rugby Union Club in 2003. The name changed to the Northern Beaches Folk Festival when the Time and Tide Hotel in Dee Why hosted the event in 2004. The Steyne Hotel in Manly hosted the event in 2005 and we returned to the Fishos in 2006. This year's NBFF is dedicated, with loving memory to Dave McManus. He helped take the festival to the next rung up the ladder and I really miss his company, too.

Gigs!

John Hardaker and I once sat down and discussed running gigs. It is a lot like compulsive gambling. You put all your energy into this or that project and they don't always come off. Then, when you're ...
