Hi I'm BEN REFIX, my name used to be SUMO but it has now changed. I'll go on to explain why in a minute!
At the moment I live in South East London, in the past 5 years I've lived in Toronto where I studied Sound Technology, Vancouver, Whistler and where I was brought up in Kent. As I'm 23 I guess its quite a few places... I think I'm finally settled down now!
Right... Music... I've been lucky enough to move in next door to music producer JOE LEWIS aka SIZZLAX. We started writing some tunes for fun, things have moved on now and our music has become alot more meaningful to us and things have started to get more serious, so REFIX was formed. We write alot of Electro House and Dubstep at the moment so keep an eye on our uploaded tunes as new ones will be up there every week.
Recently dj bookings have been coming think and fast, to help promote REFIX'S music I wanted to change my dj name as SUMO is in no way related to what we are doing now. So.. As of now my new dj name is BEN REFIX not SUMO.
Under SUMO I was just djing Drum & Bass and I kind of got locked into that genre but recently I have been playing everything from Hip Hop to Dubstep, Electro to Mc Hammer so people I guess are getting a bit confused. For now SUMO is going to sleep for a bit and BEN REFIX is taking over.
Djing.... I've been lucky enough to be asked to take up a residency at Union events at the legendary FABRIC in Farringdon and a weekly dj set at MINISTRY OF SOUND, London. I Also hold a residencies at HERBAL, EGG and with MIXMAG'S EVENTS. Internationally I have been playing in America, France, Spain, Ukraine and Canada.
