About Me

How many times have you mulled over a pint or two at the local pub and yearned for change? Yearned to do something, anything? The four established musicians in Midajo (pronounced my-da-joe) have had their share of dreaming and late-night conversations about making great music. The result: a powerful rock record, collaboration with national artists and a production company.
Midajo is a relatively new band, but the band members' history is long and storied. Richard Stevens (guitar) and Michael Johnson (lead vocals/guitar) were in Love Circle Logic (Sweetfish Records), and performed with Nashville-based Dreaming in English, where they met drummer Jeff Brown. Jeff, an LA-born, Nashville-based drummer had performed with many groups, one of which being King Konga, which included Steve Cook on bass. With his move to Nashville, Steve joined Midajo immediately and the band started the recording process on what was to become 'Evolvolution'.
'Evolvolution' is the result of a year-long effort by the band to put out a record that was not only musically daring, but captured the influences of each of the band members. The melodically inspiring record was a labor of love and labor of labor, for during the recording process every band member was involved in other touring and recording projects. Highlights of the record include the unforgettable single 'Sugar' to the hard-hitting 'Drifting Away' and the softer, reflective 'I'm Alone'. 'Evolvolution' is an intelligent, powerful, rock record that reminds one of shades of Foo Fighters, Stone Temple Pilots, and Audioslave. You can buy a copy by clicking here
Midajo has also been heard backing Megan McCauley (Windup Records) on two movie soundtracks: Elektra (2004) and Fantastic Four (2005). This collaboration led to the formation of Killer Clear Productions, an audio production company focused on a varity of musical projects headed up by Richard and Michael.
In addition to Midajo, Jeff and Steve also perform with Patrick Davis, a Nashville singer-songwriter likened to Lyle Lovett and Chris Isaak. Steve is also the touring bass player for rising country star Trent Tomlinson. Jeff plays drums for the amazing guitarist Reeves Gabrels.
