House music itself was founded in depths of a Chicago night club known as the "Warehouse". The dance itself is older then that growing from different clubs in NYC such as the "paradise garage" and before that the "Loft". This time period gave haven to those from the disco era to express freely. Borrowing influences from african, jazz, capoeira, and tap. House dance incorporates quick footwork with clear, upper-body syncopation.
fLO-Ology Dance Company is composed of long-time "freestyle" dancers from around the nation. Currently teaching and always studying the different styles of house dance to help pass this legacy to the west coast scene. fLO-Ology's has long been a presence in the San Francisco night life scene. As artists of different dance backgrounds, they enjoy creating impressive urban dance choreography entertainment. fLO-Ology has performed extensively in the Bay Area, and beyond. fLO-Ology teaches weekly workshop classes at the ODC dance commons.
