Cape Conrad

About Me

Cape Conrad is an one man project, which I started in 2007 after a long time of musical abstinence. Equipped with various sets of new guitar strings, a new computer and some bottles of French red wine I started to record a collection of self-written and self-performed songs.
What’s your background?
Maybe some veterans from Berlin’s 1990ies indie/alternative/noise community might remember bands like “Aaron Braxley” or “Worldcup” in which I was the singer and guitar player. After Worldcup broke up in 1998, I continued writing music for art show soundtracks as well as I did some other electronic and ambient stuff before I temporarily quit making music in 2003.
With Cape Conrad I am now again dealing with my favourite music genre that I call – not fully without irony – “Finest genuine old school indie rock”. You can listen to Cape Conrad on MySpace or Last.fm . Good friends and others who ask politely will also get a (most likely free) CD copy of my self-released and self-manufactured album “The Good Hope”.
Why are you doing this?
It’s simply about enthusiasm and fun in playing and sharing music.
And what’s coming next?
Possibly a new album and/or first live shows* in 2009. Time will tell…
*If you are a musician (preferably in Berlin) and you would be interested in joining Cape Conrad for playing live shows – please don’t hesitate to get in touch :-)
