About me…..ok, my names Jonny I’m a singer song-writer living in York. I was born in Scunthorpe and moved to York about 6 years ago after I finished my drama degree. Having finished my degree, I fell into various positions including, Drama teacher, Youth worker/media coach, Freelance film-maker….the list goes on.
I’ve always been creative and Music has always been something I’ve held close and wanted to be involved with, it’s just taken me a while to discover my own sound and get it out there.
It’s hard for me to describe my music, other than saying its acoustic. I’ve always found it difficult to write a song that sits in the middle, they tend to be one extreme or the other. So I coined the phrase of ‘Light and Dark acoustic’ which I think describes my music pretty well. I just sing about what I know, about what’s real to me, and where I’ve been, be it good or bad.
Human emotion plays a big part in my music and I can’t help but leave a piece of myself in all of my writing.
If you like my sound then the live stuff is where it's at, and for me, there's nothing quite like playing at the live shows.
