Coolaboola Events began in February 2005, when four very frustrated music-lovers from Cork realised that complaining about the lack of all-ages gig scene in Cork was getting them nowhere. They decided to make matters into their own hands. Lorna (aged 15), Kari, (17), Meg (17) and Ali (18) set about organising their first all-ages event in The Triskel - a small venue in Cork. To their surprise, the gig was a huge success and completely sold out.
Still beaming at the success of their very first gig, the girls began planning what was soon to become a regular occurrence; "Indie-Vidual".
Fast forward three years to 2008.
Having hosted regular gigs in Cork's premier music venue's (Cyprus Avenue, The Triskel etc) featuring the cream of Irish talent (The Chalets, The Blizzards, Delorentos, Fight Like Apes etc) and international stars such as The Rumble Strips (UK), as well as being featured on numerous Irish radio stations (Red FM, 96 FM, 2FM), magazines (Hotpress, Kiss), television (TG4) and newspapers - one would be correct in saying that Coolaboola Events has made it's mark on the Irish music scene!
Three of the founding members, Lorna (Now 18), Ali (21) and Kari (20) continue to run the gigs as regularly as is possible, while official Coolaboola photographer Lisa Kiely lends a welcome helping hand.
Coolaboola gigs have become known for their professionally run, FUN gigs. Excpect free sweets, lollipops (candy canes when we're feeling festive), balloons, raffles and all sorts of other fun, as well as top class music in a friendly environment.
ALL AGES WELCOME! :-)

We do good gigs.
This lot agree.
"Coolaboola is a collective of four teenage girls from Cork who shared a love of music and a hatred of Irelands age-ism when it comes to live gigs. So, instead of sitting around in silence until they turned 18, the quartet established Coolaboola Events in 2005 and have been hosting "all - ages" gigs since. Good Women!" - Hotpress
"How many young women under the age of 19 are actively helping their peers and community by bringing entertainment to Cork? Downtown reckons it is not many, but Coolaboola Events fit the bill."- Michelle Moore, "Downtown" The Evening Echo.
"The Celtic Tiger has given birth to a new breed of teenager - focused, driven, creative youths who understand that you have to work for what you want.
Coolaboola Events is a perfect example of this drive and vision." - Downtown, The Evening Echo.
"Coolaboola are one of the best success stories in Cork music over the last 12 months!" - Stevie G of Red FM.
The all ages revolution has arrived...
