Post Honeymoon

About Me

Post Honeymoon’s roots go back to a summer night in 2001, when drummer Nick Kraska met keyboardist Rachel Shindelman (both ex-Bang! Bang!, New Black) and brought her to a show at the Empty Bottle.
It took them three years to start playing together and another three to get married, go on their first vacation and start their own outfit, the aptly named Post Honeymoon.
Post Honeymoon strips bare and slows down the pop songs Kraska and Shindelman perfected while playing in other outfits. What’s left are the kind of songs you dream up when you think nobody else is listening. Think Siouxsie Sioux meets the Motels, meets Love & Rockets (without the guitars).
Buzz & Press
"If there were any justice in the world, a record like this would catch on like wildfire." - New City Chicago
"Post Honeymoon are adept at letting silence fill the void as much as noise. They play with dynamics in unusual ways. There is no guitar. They’re heavily influenced by the post-punk of bands like The Birthday Party (clearly), Shellac (not noticeable) and early PJ Harvey (my opinion). The influences are there, yes, but they’ve been digested and what comes forth is something new and very throat grabbing. I’m willing to bet they give a pretty kick-ass live show, too." - Randomville.com
"Post Honeymoon attacks songs with an angular approach that relies on heavy fuzzed out basslines, bashed drums and Rachel Shindelman's eerie voice. When it all comes together, it's a distorted slightly evil sounding wall of noise that's as powerful as an M1 Abrams tank." - First Coast News
"This music is a driving force filled with a rhythm the might surprise you." - The Deli Magazine
"They have this wonderful gothic pop sound that really rocks. Post Honeymoon has a sound all their own... and I’m telling you now; this band is going to GO somewhere soon! Need I add that Rachel’s voice is just gorgeous?" - Love Shack, Baby
“When the music started I could feel it in my pacemaker. I thought, holy shit, I hope it doesn’t blow!” – Rachel’s Mom
“Post Honeymoon has the same sort of tense, dirty post-new-wave energy that made the New Black so much fun.” – PHLP
