Born in the city of Moron,province of Camaguey,Cuba,Miguel Martin has been a Recording artist,Singer,Performer,Producer and Percussionist for over 30 years now!!!
Beginning in 1979,he has recorded over 47 albums with some of the biggest names in Latin Music,including Celia Cruz,Ricardo Montaner,Celio Gonzalez and many others.
He has performed with and alongside many of the legendary figures of Salsa,including Johnny Pacheco,Hector LaVoe,Larry Harlow,Rolando Laserie,Orlando Contreras,
Ray Barretto,Frankie Ruiz,Ismael Miranda,Roberto Torres,La India de Oriente,Tito Puente,Tipica Novel,Charanga 76,Fajardo,Louie Ramirez y Ray de La Paz,Blanca Rosa Gil,Elio Roca,Olga Guillot,Luisa Maria Guell,Justo Betancourt and many others in New York,Puerto Rico and Miami.
He has PRODUCED six albums including CONTINENTAL BRASS - "HOMENAJE A LOS GRANDES" and the debut album for one of BEYONCE'S lead dancers,the beautiful YANIRA MARIN.
He won a PAOLI Award in Puerto Rico in 1991 for best Foreign salsa vocalist.
He was one of the vocalists that backed up the "Queen of Salsa" CELIA CRUZ during her historic trip to GUANTANAMO,CUBA in 1990. He also recorded background vocals in CELIA'S classic "AZUCAR NEGRA" CD for RMM Records,Aside from working with Celia both as Percussionist and Background Singer since the early 80's.
He has been a member of most of the legendary groups that have come out of Miami including Los Jovenes del Hierro,Charanga Tipica Tropical,and the band with which he works now,Continental Brass, for whom he produced and recorded their latest production "Homenaje a Los Grandes" on Pimienta Records-Universal.
He was a founding member and lead singer of one of the most influential groups to come out of the so called "Miami Sound"
which was the group FRIENDS.
He was one of the lead singers in one of New York city's most popular and legendary Orchestras,the famous "CHARANGA CASINO" of New York.
He was lead singer and the voice behind some of the biggest hits of the legendary Group CLOUDS.
He was the producer and creator of the famous and legendary Salsa duo MIGUEL Y OSCAR with which he had one of the biggest hits of his career and an anthem in 80's Salsa "Good Lovin' "
