About Me

Hey Everyone,
Welcome to our new MySpace page!
My name is Jodi and by singing partner is Lisa, and we have been best friends since grade school, and singing together ever since. We've always told each other that one day we were going to cut an album together, and it's finally happened. We are so excited about our new album, "Bluegrass In Waltz Time." It took about a year and a half in production and was finally released in March of this year (2007).
We decided to form Rosehill about 2 years ago, after we were approached by Cliff Worrell, a Houston song writer, who heard us singing at a Bluegrass Jam. He told us that he loved our voices and wanted us to record his songs. He told us it had been a life long dream of his to have his music recorded and enjoyed all over the world.
We told him that we would review his material and let him know what we thought. Needless to say, we knew his songs were something really special the minute we heard them. His songs lent themselves to really great melodious harmony, and that's our favorite thing in the whole world. We told him we'd be honored to record his material, and after much planning we eventually did. Over the course of this project, we became very close with Cliff and his wife Marie, they became very dear and special friends to us.
You can check out all of the tracks on our new album, Bluegrass In Waltz Time at cdbaby.com, just click on the "links" section of our page to go there, or go to the cdbaby website and type "Rosehill" as your keyword search.
Cliff Worrell loved how his songs turned out on this album, he told his family that his dream finally came true, and boy did it ever. His songs are now being heard on the radio all across the USA and several countries beyond as well.
The album has been a success from the start, and we couldn't be more excited, than if we had wrote the songs ourselves. Lisa and I are so happy and honored to have been a part of this special project, and relieved that it had Mr. Cliff's blessing. You see, to our great sadness, Mr Cliff passed away on June 23, 2007. He was a life long fiddler and song writer, he was a precious Christian man and passionate about music.
When our album was in production, he asked us to be sure that we put a lot of fiddle work in in it. Lisa and I love good fiddle music, and knew the natural choice for the job was Randy Powell. As you will hear, Randy did an outstanding job on the fiddle, guitar, mandolin and bass fiddle. He was the engineer and producer on the album as well. Randy is one talented guy, and we had so much fun working with him in his "Randy Powell Music Studio."
On the lead guitar was the incomparable Bobby Nichols, WOW! That guy can sure make a guitar talk. And on the Banjo we were lucky enough to get Brent Wernick from the Austin, Texas music scene. The combination of these guys together on one album resulted in a really great project, we hope that you check it out.
Lisa and I are song writers as well and have a bunch of new material that we have composed over the last few years. Keep checking back with us, because we are already planning the next album, and hope to start recording it in the near future.
We're so glad you stopped by our page! Please take the time to drop us a comment and let us know you were here and tell us what you think about our music. We always love hearing from friends, whether they are old friends or new!!
Take care, and keep picking, singing, writing or listening to that sweet bluegrass music. God Bless you!
