From Dogs On Acid ''JAH MAGIC'' / ''BLOOD WISE'' - ASCENZION It's good to hear classic jungle vibes every once and a while. I have no idea where Ascenzion came from, but it doesn’t matter: this release is all about steaming Jungle insanity. DJ Phase's ''Jah Magic'' gets the Remarc-sounding remix by L Town on the A-side, complete with looped vocal snippets (''what will become of this dream?''), random diva vocals in the beat, a 4/4 straight out of '93 and a host of other ecstasy-inducing sounds. On the B-side, Steve B'Co jacks a classic Junior Reid vocal for ''Blood Wise'', which again makes great use of the 4/4 alongside Reid's lyrics. This tune is essentially a bootleg of the classic Reid tune, which is what the old skool was all about. Fans of classic Kemet, Congo Natty, Suburban Base and the aforementioned Remarc need to hunt this plate down PRONTO!
