About Me

Born Brian Micheal Tavenier on May 2, 1985 in Cleveland Ohio he lived in Euclid Ohio for the early part of his childhood. With mostly older friends and being the youngest of his cousins BT was heavily influenced by everything he saw and eventually became a part of. Music was always a big part in is life. His parents listened to classic rock but being the rebel he was he ran with the rap crowd even at the youngest of ages. as time passed he became more and more intrigued by the hottest music on the streets rap music. By the time he had moved to Mentor in late 1993 rap music was blossoming into a culture. With debuts of artists such as 2pac, Biggie, Wu-Tang and Bone Thugs N’ Harmony BT became a product of the music. Throughout grade school BT experimented with drums and guitar but wanted more. He wanted to become a voice for the music listeners. In 1997 BT wrote his first song “Backwhen”. The only previous experience he had with rhyming was with his friends Shawn Hancy and Mike Contorno (K.C.K. aka Klaim Check Kliq) freestyling. He was not easily accepted as a white rapper and was often made fun of. BT didn’t give a fuck. His friends were slow to come around but by the time he was entering 9th grade there was anticipation of an album. Because BT didn’t have any money his first recordings were on a karaoke machine on cassette. In 2000 BT and his homie C-dubbz dropped the song "blowin pills". The song became an instant classic among his peers and it was a reality rap of Mentor high school’s drug problems. The ladies on the other hand wanted more. About a year later BT hooked up with two of his friends Jimmy Bones and his cousin Jim Biefelt to form M.W.T. (Midwest Thugs). Recording in Jimmy Bones’s room on this ghetto set up to cassette they went to work. Constantly knocking out song after song. One song stood out above the rest. One that would give them there name.... “y’all best not test, them thugs representin for the Midwest”. From there it was a slow non stop grind of just putting in work. Making beats on a cheap program for the computer and putting down the flow. In 2005 - MWT gets a break. Hookin up with the legendary Wrap N Roll Records, Fat Josh signed on, they went down to Cleveland and recorded "till the end" still tippin remix. They recorded the song on 3-15-06 and had there first concert the next day. On 3-16-05 the first show with MWT at Johnny C's in Parma, Ohio. The Thugs rocked it and from that day forward it was on. Now a days find me chillin in the studio 24/7 puttin in work. workin on a bunch of new solo shit droppin mad shit
