KILLJOY [ARE EVOLVING]

MADE FAE GURDERS.

About Me

Hey we're Killjoy and even though we're not even a year old, we've been through one hell of a roller-coaster. 4 gigs [including winning a battle of the bands], a rough 4 track demo recording, photoshoots and mosh pits. We're going to spend pretty much all summer, just rebuilding the band. Getting in a new singer, creating a new and more modern sound, changing our name and getting 6 new songs together. We hope to come back as a much stronger band. Everything that's happened so far has happened so quickly, and we were maybe thrown right in at the deep end gig-wise. But when we come back, we're hoping to launch an e.p and get some serious gigging done. Watch out for our new stuff, it's faster, harder, and much more in-your-fucking-face than our demo was.
CURRENTLY: WRITING NEW MATERIAL.
We've shared stages with:
Anavris
In The Attack
From Collisions I Collapse
Your Fears
Mind Set A Threat
Smoked Glass
Kiss Kiss Baby
+ more!
News 11.07.08 - New Member!!
We're very happy to say that James Lowe has joined the band as our new clean vocalist! He has always been a good friend to the band and is very enthusiastic about the whole thing! We've got new songs coming! They sound so much better than our demo stuff, and we hope to get gigging again by the end of this year with the new set! Then get an e.p recorded sometime after new year!
03.05.08 - The Hive Again!
Killjoy gig tonight at The Hive went really, really well! immense time tonight!
Killjoy supported:
Bury Your Senses
Anavris [For the second time]
Mind Set A Threat
Your Fears
We played the usual demo set of:
For The Win, Route Canal, In No Mans Land, Will of The Waves,
Great to see a few familiar faces out there tonight! We had quite a few new faces in the crowd dancing away. Definitely the best set we've ever played, it was tight and perfectly timed/tuned/played! Big thanks to all the bands and people that came along tonight!
21.04.08 - Open up the pit!
We played at the Hive tonight along with From Collisions I Collapse, In The Attack and Hannah Scott. The other bands were awesome and we had a really good time. We also launched the sale of our demo tonight! It will be available for sale for every future gig! We got a pit going tonight which was smashin! We played:
-For The Win!
-Route Canal
-In No Mans Land
-The Will of the Waves
Hopefully we'll get more gigs booked soon!
13.04.08 - Demo Completed!
We've been in the recording studio all weekend down at Windmill Sound in Newtongrange. We got 4 tracks recorded, and 2 very funny studio videos recorded! We're really happy with the songs, and we hope you are aswell! The 4 track demo will be available from our gig on the 21st with "We're Not Superheroes Anymore"! Tracklisting for the demo:
For The Win!
The Will Of The Waves!
Route Canal
In No Mans Land
We hope you enjoy them! :D
22.03.08 - Battle of the What?!
We were in a battle of the bands tonight at a hotel in Clermiston. We had lineup problems, as our bassist Carla was on holiday in Belgium, and lead singer Frazer had tonsilitis. We were able to get Katy to fill in on bass, and Jason to fill in on vocals. By turning up, we had won the contest by default.. no other band showed! We won a recording session at Banana Row! We played:
-For The Win!
-The Will of the Waves
-In No Mans Land
-(then some songs instrumentally)
A big thanks to everybody who came tonight, even though we weren't as tight playing-wise as we would've liked. We'd also like to thank Jason and Katy for stepping in tonight. We really appreciated it all!
03.03.08 - Demo Plans!
We plan to record our 4 track demo on the 12th and 13th of April! After a bit of rewriting songs that we played live back in February, we believe these songs are our best, and they sound better than ever before! The songs that should appear are:
-For The Win!
-Route Canal
-The Will ofthe Waves
-In No Mans Land
All the tracks will be uploaded onto our myspace page, and we'll be selling the demo through band members and at gigs!
17.02.08 - First Gig!
It was our first gig tonight! It went amazingly well! We've been getting the set together everyday in the last week, so we were really looking forward to this. It was amazing to see so much support on our first gig, there was people with Killjoy t-shirts and banners! We were second on tonight, after System Arcade.
Our first ever set was:
-For The Win!
-Route Canal
-You Are Not You
-Bullet Theory (Funeral For A Friend Cover)
-Stop Me Falling
-In No Mans Land
After us, Anavris, Impromatic and Kiss Kiss Baby played. All the guys playing tonight were really sound, Jack from Impromatic even helped Ryan fix a broken guitar string!
We'd just like to thank everyone who made it possible, and everybody who came out to see us!
