About Me

deadenstereo are a rock band, who haven't always thought of themselves as such.Based in Edinburgh, they have gigged all over the country on the back of a little radio exposure, their day jobs and the belief that if one person goes away happy, the trip has been a success.Supporting indie hero Neil Leyton and Valis (ex-Screaming Trees) have been highlights, and low lights are not worth the time it takes to type them."Trust The Tale (Not The Teller)" is a taster from their current single/ep - for more info, releases, downloads, photos and upcoming gigs, please visit: www.deadenstereo.com or email [email protected]"These Edinburgh indie rockers name-check James Kelman on their latest release, and the connection goes further: Hard-edged, sometimes abrasive, but with a tender heart and a strong sense of purpose, they share many qualities with the Booker-winning novelist. Opening with a delicate melody that Teenage Fanclub would be proud of they then let loose on the chorus, rocking out like Idlewild in their prime. Deadenstereo aren't easy listening, but given time they work their way inside your head. Much like a certain Mr Kelman" - Is This Music?"Melody is at the heart of everything they doeach hook laden chorus earthed by churning guitars and brilliant harmonies" - The Big Issue"Mixing haunting guitar melodies with fragile vocals, deadenstereo could find a wider audience if theres more where this came from" - The Daily Record"This is great chiming lead guitar and spot on vocals freefalling into another planet sized chorus" - Is This Music?"Very impressive keep an eye out for these guys" - Kill The Noize"A&R guys from cool indie labels should surely be sniffing around these fellows in the hope of bringing us the Next Big Thing" - Ripping Tracks"A fucking beautiful demo tape" - The Bible Fanzine"Given half a chance, deadenstereo will rip your heart out and tear it into a thousand tiny pieces" - Alternative 101 Fanzine"Powerful, emotive rock music with an intelligent message at its centre" - www.lofimusic.co.uk"Take the Manics' first album, add a hint of minor key angst, flip in a proper wailing rock guitar break and a dash of grunge. Simmer in a sauce of 'peak time' Radiohead, et voila! They write a good lyric, write a good tune...what the fuck else do you want?" - Fudge FanzinePlease remember that deadenstereo have SPLIT UP, so all you bands sending us generic "hey man we saw you on so and so's page and thought you'd like to flatter our egos by telling us how great we are in return for us doing the same" type messages, please stop. Thank you.
