Louis a Staffs Terrier (not pictured) was kind enough to let us use his premises for the purpose of making beats all he asks for is to come in once and while and see whats being cooked up;
Louis Den is the Birmingham based lab currently used by Sonnyjim & Kosyne to make beats; write and lace tracks.
Although they knew each other's work and unknowingly crossed paths in the past it wasnt until actually meeting through recording artist SKRIEN, KOSYNE decided to get KELAKOVSKI down to the lab and link with other producers DARREN PAUL and EYEBS for regular beat sessions....chill, listen to each others beats, go through samples and make beats; later we'd set HOMEWORK...(samples we'd agree on to make beats with in time for the next time we'd meet up).
After blogging a couple of these sessions through video plenty other producers showed an interest and we decided to set challenges to everyone and film the results next time we linked up..and almost accidenlty Louis Den Beat Battles was born!.
Through myspace and our own individual links we've gotten a steady bunch of regulars who either enter beats online or come through in the flesh to the lab for Louis Den episodes where we play the homework beats..offer comments and generally just geek out and chill to the works offerings.
Throughout each video expect to see the regulars..KOSYNE, KELAKOVSKI, URBAN MIDNIGHT, EYEBS, DARREN PAUL...(although heads cant always make it and dip in and out from week to week) and plenty other local beat heads who pass through when they can (ROEG DU CASQ, R2THABEATS, FIGARO, RAUL SUPREME, JODO)..and even cameos from PROLIFIK (dandy productions/ab0181 on youtube), FILTHYSOX (wizard & kid eight) and online regulars set to come though.
