MySpace Layouts MySpace Codes MySpace Backgrounds Hey friends of me! for those who don't know me i'm chris, and for those who do i'm the idiot drummer guy. I'm 16 years old and love music. i've been drumming for the past 6.5 years (to be exact) and i honestly can't think of anything that i would rather be doing. I first picked up a pair of sticks when my mum realised that i had a passion for hitting anything and everything around me. My first drum-kit was a couple of pillows and a coffee table (which was awesome!) and i got my first kit around a year later. I play in a variety of musical styles ranging from small-group jazz and funk to latin and rock as well as everything else that i get a chance to play and learn from. I am currently drumming for the renowned MHS Big Band 1 and have just returned from a tour with the band visiting Toronto and New York. The tour was a massive learning experience for me as i got to meet some of my biggest drumming influences as well as listening some seriously awesome music! As well as this, I also play regularly with Adelaide's Kings of New Orlean's Funk, Rhythm and Blues, "Gumbo Ya Ya" along with the new rock sensation, "Mister." I also gig in and around town with various jazz groups on a regular basis. After learning from the fantastic John McDermott, I am now learning drums from Larry Todd and Rudimental Snare-Drumming from the scarily talented Jamie Adam. BEing given the opportunit to play in so many musical styles has given me the chance to listen to a huge number of drummers. Even though there are so many great drummers out there who have all impacted upon my playing, my three biggest drumming influences at the moment would have to be Vinnie Colaiuta, Antonio Sanchez, and Dave Weckl.When i find spare time away from music (which isn't often), i love hanging out with all my mates from MHS, eating, and playing the greatest game on earth, "Tennis Soccer". Influences:Firstly there's Laura Neale. This girl is my rock. She has taught me everything i know, and without her i'd be nothing. She's been there for me as long as i remember, and i'd be lost wihtout her. She is possibly the most talented person i know, and i'm so lucky that i know her.
