Deficit is a local rock/punk band originating from West Palm Beach, FL. Formed from the remnants of Nuxi (which had gained notoriety in the local punk scene), Deficit has gone through a couple name changes in it's history (Black Cap, Phlegmatic, etc.). They got tired of trying to think up better names and settled on Deficit.
A few life-altering events have separated the band for part of their history, putting the band on hiatus for quite some time when you add it all up. Dustin has paid his dues with the US Army Reserve, serving a few tours in the recent Iraq war. If anything good has come from this, it's Dustin's anger and motivation to write some excellent songs. Also, Luke spent 4 years at UCF getting a Bachelor's degree in Criminal Justice. Now they're all back in South Florida and ready to play.
It's members have been playing and listening to music in one way or another for much of their lives. They love to play loud, jump around, joke around, jerk around, and make sure everyone's having a good time. They thrive on crowd interaction and feedback, so the more fun you have, the better they play.
