People excited about Life & Passionate about working hard and playing even harder . . . If you can't get enough music, we're on the same page!!! . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .Check out this computer animated video I did from my last project:. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . The amazing drumming on this tune is provided by Rob Silverman - We made up this tune on the spot with no previous discussion - We had the intern hit the record button and away we went!!! That's how cool it is to work with bad ass musicians like Rob!!! . . . . . . . . . . . .Octave Gone began as a concept about trying to create a new way to visually convey music. Each side of an octagon representing a note of a scale and each successive ring showing the passage of time. Tone and timbre are related through color, texture and light. The unending lattice of the structure of octagon grid represents the harmony, and the reflections echo like fading reverberations. This concept attempts to stretch far beyond the range of expression that a traditional music staff can give. . . . . . . . .This project is just as much of a musical experiment in technology and improvisation as well. All of the compositions are recorded spontaneously as improvised duets between Derek & either Rob Silverman, Mike Silverman or Phil Gomez. Exploring the overlay of octaves and overtones, the guitar generates the bass, electric and acoustic guitars simultaneously. . . . . . . . Check it out and let me know what you think!
