DJ Xclusive AKA The Nations Favorite…!!!(Don’t ask…just fill in the blank) was born in the tropical splendor of the island Trinidad. His native land is an island rich in pulsating African influenced music. Life for all the Caribbean is intimately intertwined with those soulful rhythms and their influence on X (he is knows to his friends) was more pronounced since his parents knew music intimately; his mother played the piano and his father was a well known DJ in Trinidad. X’s exceptional musicianship is attributed to a combination of nature and nurture. From and early age he focused his interests and learned how to write songs, play the piano and the flute. Despite being naturally gifted in the several areas of the arts, young Xclusive had a particular affinity for his father’s records and turntables. As fate would have it, his new favorite instrument was the centerpiece of a musical movement in the States that was gaining momentum precisely as he and his family moved to Washington, DC. Hip Hop music was on the rise, yet it was still barely a blip on the mainstream America’s radar, which forced Xclusive to scour the underground scene for hints of inspiration via mixtape pioneers like Kid Capri and Ron G. At the age for 12 (having realized his inner mix master) Xclusive began testing his newly sharpened skills performing opening sets and warming up crowds for this father. He quickly became the DJ of choice for high school events and basement parties throughout the DC Metro area. As Xclusive grew in experience and stature, as did his name and the size of the venues where he showcased his skills on the 1’s and 2’s. Now, while Washington, DC may be enough for the leader for the free world, it simply could not contain Xclusive’s immense talent and drive and he soon took his show on the road, where he has met with great success, touring with the likes of such first class artists as the Ruff Ryder’s, The Lox (Jadakiss, Styles P, Sheek Louch), Cash Money, Wyclef Jean, and Born Jamericans. Today, he is known for bringing the heat to such popular clubs as The Bank, Republic Gardens, DC Live (in its days) VIP, H2O, Platinum, The Avenue, Ultra Night Club, Fly Lounge, Dream (Miami), Love, Amika, Muse, Pearl, Rum Jungle (Ludacris DTP Party & Live Broadcast on XM Las Vegas) The Highland Night Club (Hollywood) & Now Ibiza Night Club, to name a few…seriously I could go on….. He is a record crate connoisseur, whose diverse song selections appeal to all crowds. Xclusive’s signature style of DJing has been heard on two of the nation’s capitol FM station, WKYS 93.9 and on WPGC 95.5 and also in Las Vegas Hot 97. He has perfectly parlayed his love of music into a successful career conquering the club sense & commercial radio. In addition, due to his remarkable ear for talent is the reason XM Satellite radio Inc. recently retained him as Channel 67’s (the City) Music Director, DJ and On Air Talent where he can now be heard not only Nationwide across the USA, Canada but now on Direct TV Channel 847, AOL Music XM (The City), on airplanes such as Jet blue, TED, Air-Tran & Air Canada. Dj Xclusive was crowned in 2006 The NBA All-Star Jam Session Dj Battle winner in Houston TX. As if this isn’t enough, Xclusive was also nominated and won the Best Satellite Mix show Award in 2006 @ the Mix show Power Summit which took place in the Dominican Republic. In 2007 Dj Xclusive also appeared on BET’s Scream Star Tour in 10 major cities as tour dj & host for scream star radio on xm 68. Also in 2007 Dj Xclusive was the official BET Award show after party DJ @ The Hotel Roosevelt. Recently Dj XCLUSIVE was feature on MYSPACE as it’s featured DJ and was also found on Myspace’s Hip-Hop Page. It is that same ability to recognize quality music that allows him to now create such music as a producer. He is currently producing hits for his R&B artist Megan DeMagnus & his Rappers Vital & D Mill and dance remixes. He is diligently working to build Rated X Records & Day Dreaming Music Production to be strong contender in the high stakes world of entertainment media. DJ Xclusive is truly a special.
