About Me

i am a jazz bassist, currently attending the university of vermont, where i'm double majoring in jazz performance and creative writing. i study applied jazz bass with the great john rivers, as well as applied classical bass with andrew albright.
my current original project is a new type of fusion that blends post-bop jazz with (specifically) post-hardcore rock, inspired by a tune trumpeter christian scott wrote entitled "say it." when i get that together and find the right musicians to record/perform it with, i'll be able to say that i've given the world something good. check back here and you'll probably see some of that work taking form.
"there are a million reasons for why this may not work...and just one for why it will," is a contemporary rock ballad by .Moneen. which i play over in the first two sections on electric bass, then solo over the bridge, recorded in early 2008. "shadow dance," is a dave holland tune performed and recorded by a big band that my friend mike put together in summer of 2007. "violet" is a bruce sklar tune recorded by the former michael hardin trio in late 2006 with mike on piano, chris markley on drums, myself on bass. that same group recorded "the plaster man's master plan," written by mike.
