About Me

To hear 2-minute previews of all 10 songs on the CD, go to:--------------------------------------------------------- ------------------------------------------------------------ --------www.johnlunman.com (Click link on bottom-left)------------------------------------------------ ------------------------------------------------------------ -------------------------------------or--------------------- ------------------------------------------------------------ ------------------------------------------------------------ --------------------------www.cdBaby.com-------------------- ------------------------------------------------------------ ------------------------------------------------- I've been writing and performing across Canada since the mid 90’s. "Highway 401 Tonight" is a mix of Canadian Rock and Roots music. The title track was inspired by many late night drives along the 401, reflecting on past lives as I drove by places I once lived such as Brockville, Kingston, Belleville, Kitchener-Waterloo, and brief stops in Cornwall and Oshawa. Driving by these places, I'd think about how I changed there and about those I knew (and lost touch with) along the way.Currently, I am receiving airplay on Radio Newfoundland for three songs: "Anywhere", "Two Lanes", and "Saltwater Sea". Saltwater Sea was inspired by my first trip to Newfoundland in 2000. While I was looking out at the Atlantic from Cape Spear, I found it maddening that it was either so hard to stay or move to such an amazing place. I guess you could call Saltwater Sea a "Come-From-Away's" take on the challenges of life in the Maritimes. As of the New Year, songs from "Highway 401 Tonight" have also appeared on radio in Belgium, Conneticut, Indiana, Ontario, Saskatchewan, and British Columbia."Under the Northern Sky" was inspired by the desire to break free from daily frustrations and leave it all behind. Memories of my first train trip out West three years ago provided the alternative sought in the song.Ultimately, I hope to take a simialr journey by continuing to develop my music career. Over the last few years, I have been performing more frequently and hope that Highway 401 Tonight will take me further down the road.Highway 401 Tonight is available at www.johnlunman.com, CD Baby (www.cdbaby.com), Indie Pool (www.indiepool.ca), and HMV record stores in Canada.Single track purchases, or the entire CD, are available at these digital stores: i-Tunes, Napster, and Groupie Tunes. Clicking the i-Tunes button will take you directly to Highway 401 Tonight in the i-Tunes store. Any songs not appearing on MySpace can be found at the above websites. The longest track previews, 2 minutes for each song, can be heard at my website and CD Baby.Cheers. John
