Welcome to the new home of Hip Hop! Actually, the Mid West has been reppin' the culture for quite some time now, but only recently have we garnered the mainstream attention where we can officially say "Hip Hop Lives in the Mid West". Calm down, we understand that everyone doesn't agree with this statement, and that is perfectly fine. But before you get your panties in a bunch we challenge you to consider its truth.
Since Hip Hop surfaced onto the mainstream and into the homes of suburbia-America there has been one hell of a transition. But that is what Hip Hop does, it adapts and changes. Only recently has the commercialization of Hip Hop brought about false conceptions as to who controls "the game" based on units sold from artist based on location. Quite frankly, we don't believe this to have anything to do with Hip Hop what-so-ever. All the while, some of most influential and talented artist have surfaced from the Mid West, impacting a wide range of fans and the culture in general.
When we say "Hip Hop Lives in the Mid West", it is not a claim to pop-culture, record spins, or MTV rotation. In fact, it is bigger than rap music in general. It has more to do with the fans the true Headz that need more than videos and MP3's to stay in touch with the culture. The events, the concerts, interaction with real artist! Understand that we know, love, and appreciate all artist from ANY COAST who rep and love the art, but it takes a village! Right now, the Mid West is the village and we are raising Hip Hop.
