Marcus Siepen, born September 8th 1968 in Krefeld, Germany, is one of two guitarists in the Power Metal band Blind Guardian. For the biggest percentage of Blind Guardian's songs, particularly in more recent years, he has almost strictly played rhythm guitar, with most lead and solo work being performed by André Olbrich. He has also made a far lesser contribution to the band's songwriting than Olbrich, who splits most of the writing with vocalist Hansi Kürsch. Marcus is divorced and has a son.Although Andre and Hansi are both founding members of the band, Originally in the band was another Markus whose last name was Markus Dörk, shortly after Lucifer's Heritage's demos were completed Markus Dörk left the band and Marcus Seipen joined.
