About Me

Khmer In Action (KIA) formed during the spring of 2007 to address issues impacting our local communities. A small group of concerned young adults found through informal dialogue that we were not alone in our feelings of frustration regarding institutional oppression combined with hope for building a stronger and more active Khmer community. At the time KIA was vigilant in raising awareness about the injustice of Khmer American deportation, and have since been strong advocates and organizers to address other issues. We continue to strengthen as a grassroots group being over 2 years old, steadily growing in numbers and passion. We are relentless in this important work. What keeps us going is the concept of a legacy that translates to a strong and loving community of Khmer people.
