About Me

I grew up in Gleason, TN an EXTREMELY small town. I've been singing as long I can remember. It all started with Reba and singing in the mirror. I took voice lessons from my mentor, and second mother, Teresa Smith. I remember singing "When You Say Nothing at All" and Mrs Teresa turning the mic up so much that it squealed. I was extremely shy! I wouldn't let her look at me when I sang. I learned to play guitar about the age of 13. With all that spawned songwriting and experimenting with who I was as a musician. My first experience with a band was awesome. We called ourselves Counter Clockwise. After that I found myself doing alot of writing and opening up for bands in local clubs. I got alot of experience in a local coffee shop called Mug'z. It was great! A couple of years later, and couple of songs later , I hooked up with this already formed band called 24 Seven in need of a lead singer/ guitarist. We rocked all the local clubs and then some. I took it all in getting experience . Anyway, this is where I am at today...the big "Nashville", TN. I have the most wonderful life partner and love of my life, Jon. We are expecting our son May 31st. We are really excited and can't wait to meet him! Together we formed a band called The Anna Ross Project. We released an album in October 2007 called "Yesterday Comes Again". We have a very "organic" sound with a Rhodes, stand up bass, and cajon. We have been taking some time off from performing for awhile and have been concentrating on writing and family. I am also trying to finish my degree in Elementary Education at MTSU. I am currently taking my last semester classes before student teaching...YAY! I can't wait to finally be finished! You can go to our website and check us out www.annaross.com.
