Twenty-two year old rap phenomenon G-Mack, a Compton native of the MOB, has analyzed life and this rap game down to a science. In turn, this has made his lyrics stronger than average and his hunger powerful enough to devour even the toughest competition.Born, Glenn Wagner, G-Mack was an active youth in athletics. Basketball became the staple in which he shined. Life was no crystal stair for the young man who struggled to keep his head above water in a city paved with violence, poverty and crime. While in the midst of the chaos he found peace within music. At the tender age of eleven G-Mack began rapping with his childhood friend, Reginald L. Burson, Jr; better known to most as, Iggie B. Unlike most artists who had dreams of becoming big stars, G-Mack and Iggie rapped for the love of the art form. Discovering his strengths through battle rapping, G-Mack began taking his talent a bit more seriously; studying the lyrics and entrepreneurial abilities one of the veterans in hip-hop; Tupac Shakur.G-Mack and Iggie B formulated a group called, The H.O.T.T.A Squad, which stands for “Hated on Time & Time Again.†At the time, no one imagined the definition of their group name would be proven in so many dynamics of tragedy. On August 30, 2006, G-Mack was shot five times, almost becoming paralyzed by bullets that missed his spine by an inch. But the worse was yet to come. In January 2007, childhood friend, Iggie B was murdered; leaving G-Mack devastated but determined to make something of his life through what he and Iggie started. When you think of all that G-Mack has been through it is amazing to hear a young man deliver lyrics on an array of topics from women to being the voice of the public. Not limiting himself as an artist, he is able to speak on war issues in his community, the lack of opportunities for offenders who come out of jail; and for those who may get it twisted he has that hardcore heat to make you levitate to another level. On a track called, “I’m Back,†G-Mack delivers lyrical somersaults that can rip holes through even your favorite rapper’s hot sixteen. Even more impressive is his ability to ghost write for R&B and other rap artists.Inspired by other successful rap artists such as Tupac Shakur, Eminen, Jay-Z, The Game, DMX, and Jadakiss, G-Mack is destined for greatness. Hip-hop is starving and with a talented young man who has nothing to lose but everything to gain, it is apparent that his ambition and love for music will help him climax to the top. Without making millions of dollars, or being iced out, he would still rap for the love of the genre. Too few people can be categorized in sharing his philosophy. Currently, G-Mack is opening at local venues throughout Long Beach, and San Bernando, CA. He is featured on the Compton’z Nightmare Volume 1 Mixtape, which will be released in summer 2008. Wanting to be more than just a rapper, G-Mack strives to help his family and those he grew up with because he understands that giving back makes a difference. That difference is one that will keep his motivation high and his talent HOTTA & HOTTA!..FLATLAND H.O.T.T.A
