About Me

Welcome to Smashing Darling ... We're kind of like an 8 Floor Megamall of Indie Fashion But Without the Food Court Or the Evil. Our mission is to bring innovative designers together with discerning shoppers to help make the world just a little more Smashing.OUR MANIFESTOAt Smashing Darling we're leading an indie fashion revolution. We Believe That Malls And Chain Stores SuckActually, we don't just believe this, we know it. The crowded parking lots. The power-walking seniors. The chain stores. The fashion travesties, Gap clones, and sad-faced sales girls... There's got to be a better way. In fact, we're pretty sure we've created one. So here's our promise: At Smashing Darling, you'll only find the hip, the new and the absolutely smashing. And you'll never have to stand all confused in the parking lot wondering where it was you left your car.We Believe That Waiting For Your Break Is A Great Way To Go BrokeIn our (seemingly endless) years ice skating our way through the cold wastelands of fashion,we've seen far too many bright-faced, devastatingly talented designers twiddle their thumbs and wiggle their toes into obscurity. It's 2007, and the only things still being "discovered" are planetoids and frightening undersea creatures. If you're a designer and you want to get known, worn and sold, you've got to stop waiting and start doing. We Believe That Somebody's Got To Do The Boring Stuff...And It Might As Well Be Us.Retailing is a brutal, nasty sport full of unpleasant surprises and a lot of really boring work. We've built Smashing Darling from the ground up so that shoppers can shop, designers can design and we can do all the boring and annoying stuff in the middle. Which means if you're a designer, you just join, show us what you've got and we handle all the details. And if you're a shopper you can do what you do best...shop.We Believe That Designers Should Get PaidRevolutionary we know. Maybe it's just that we're sick of seeing brilliance begging for change on the street corner or hearing about yet another hot young designer signing away their creativity. Here's the deal. At Smashing Darling we take a flat 18% of every sale to keep our lights on and our marketing machine humming. Everything else flies through the mysteries of the interweb and into the pockets (and the stomachs) of our hardworking designers. We Believe That Innovative Fashion And Innovative Prices Will Win OutIf you believe so too, join us as a designer , or get shopping and help us make the world just a bit more Smashing.
