About Me

God I've just read this and it's shite!!Have to do a bio I suppose........

I won't be able to stop now........Born in Wicklow, Ireland, have sang from a very young age. Awarded three year full fees scholarship to Guildford School of Acting UK in 1994 but had an horrific injury from a very evil ballet teacher (who left not long after..)

What could have been eh!Currently living in the UK. Have lived in Ireland (where I'm from), UK, LA and New York over the years but am back in UK now. WHY PRAY TELL, WHY?Writing songs for years - I started when I first lived in the UK at the age of 17. I still have my precious notebook from those days where there were about ten of us living in various houses in and around the south east of England having a blast singing in the garden, fighting in the house, the usual youthful Oirish shenanigans hahahahah!! Ah the past.........

Still writing songs but getting nowhere with producing them. Part through laziness, apathy and the day job. I've got about 20+ songs I need to complete, ranging from ballads to smokin' dance tracks. Have started work on some but my home 'studio' isn't too hot as of yet.... Call me!

Have done a fair few shows in my time ranging from shows in the Gaiety, the Tivoli (where I made my professional debut), the National Concert hall (all in Dublin) and many venues around Ireland, Scotland and the UK. I happily admit to being Agnetha many times in an ABBA tribute and partaking in a few 70's tributes as well. Sang on Mark McCabe's album 'Music from the Fourth Place' several years ago. He put my deadly little jazz number (Swayin' in the Breeze) at the end of one of the tracks and made it sound ancient.

To explain the history of the tracks I've uploaded onto My Space;Hold Me - I originally wrote for 'In America' by Jim Sheridan. I workshopped the script with him over a few days in Dublin with a group of other actors and I cheekily asked him for a copy of the script offering to write him a song. He kindly gave me a copy and less that 24 hours later I had written 'Hold Me' which was originally titled 'Requiem for Romero' about the character (renamed) Mateo who dies from AIDS - I still believe it would have whooped the shite out of Andrea Corr's song that she and Gavin Friday wrote for the end credits. The long and the short of it is I didn't have a publisher so that was that. They offered to put it in the scene at the start of the film where they're flicking through the radio stations in the car (a 2-4 second slot!) but I declined the offer. I recorded it in Mark McCabe's (v talented Dublin DJ & producer) studio in Dublin and Phil Grier (v talented top man) orchestrated it for the piano and is playing on the track. We recorded it in an afternoon. Nice. Trying to sell it now........ Y'like it?!?

So Real - I wrote this to a backing track that Phil Grier gave me in 2001 - it was slower and had a chorus. Mark McCabe (Phil's cousin) got a copy of the song and produced it into the song you hear today and did a fine job. I was adament that the song needed a chorus (I still am) but there you go.

Beeeach House Blues - This was something myself and a young chap called Tim Kingston created when I attended a music course a few years ago. We had to create an improvised piece of music and this is what we came up with having a laugh. Adam Moore (check him out), one of our tutors, came into the studio and threw some bass in. Tim started playing the blues and I sang some lyrics to fit in and there we go. We tweaked it and added in the silly talking for the laugh. I admit to the terrible recording levels but hey, you gotta start somewhere. Gotta love improv Blues. Oh how we laughed.

Someone Else's Story - From Chess. Have to add on a musical!! I love 'em. They're what started me singing... Will probably change this every so often to a different musical tune. Apologies for the ESSSSSSSSSSSSY sound - How could it be!?!??!

Anyway, enjoy listening and feel free to give me feedback......Rafters folks and thanks for reading and visiting my page.
