About Me

Well, once again I deleted my "about me" section so that I could write a "do-over".
No matter what I write, I go back and read it later and think "that just doesn't really seem like me."
If there is one word in the English dictionary that I think would describe me best, it may be "pensive".
Pensive is defined as; 1: musingly or dreamily thoughtful 2: suggestive of sad thoughtfulness.
I like things of a dismal nature. I love rainy, cool days. I like the quiet. I'm extremely satisfied to be home-bound during a blizzard. Days in a row that are gray and misty usually drive most people crazy, I thrive on those kinds of days.
I enjoy being contemplative. I don't need someone or something to entertain me full time, I like to be left alone in my thoughts.
However, I don't live in a state of self-imposed depression. I also enjoy many other things. I love to cook. I especially enjoy cooking a meal that just knocks the socks off of those who are eating it. I love good food. My absolute favorites are seafood and soups.
I love to eat seafood, especially whenever I'm vacationing near the coast. There's nothing so good as seafood, fresh from the ocean.
Soups fill the bill when I'm in one of those aforementioned melancholy moods. A bowl of broccoli and cheddar soup with some good crusty bread is more than perfect on a rainy afternoon!
I've also mentioned before that I like games. My favorites are Cribbage, Quiddler, and an old board game called Admirals. Then there are always crossword puzzles and chess too. One day I'm going to get really good at chess so I can beat everyone.
I rarely watch television, but when I do, I like detective movies and tv shows. Among my favorites are Monk, Columbo, Murder She Wrote, and Simon and Simon. Diagnosis Murder is one that grew on me as I watched it in reruns.
Well, there's probably more I could say, but I think I'll let you discover those things as you view my page over time and read my blogs. Thanks for taking the time to view my MySpace profile, and leave a comment if you will so I know you were here. :)
Julieanna, my greatest joy! Twenty seven years and my very best friend.
