I originally signed up to MySpace because I wanted to thank The Eighties Matchbox B-Line Disaster for their phenomenal gig at the Plug in Sheffield back on 2nd August... definitely the best gig I've ever been to in my (very long) life. Still can't get the songs out of my head - what energy and superbly tight rhythm - had tears in my eyes and couldn't stop grinning from the moment they came on stage.I live in the Highlands and teach flute plus I work in the local surgery in the tiny community here. I am married (2nd time lucky)to someone gorgeous and have a lovely daughter and 3 lovely step-children. I am a Fellow of the Royal Schools of Music (sounds good anyway) and perform when I get the chance (last flute recital was in Paris - sounds even better) as well as being deputy conductor of the Skye & Lochalsh Orchestra (the aptly-named SLO) when I'm not playing flute in it.I am a schizophrenic musician - classically-trained, but love to rock too (I played keyboards in a band and DJ'd in a Sheffield night club in my youth). I play modern (silver) flute, baroque (grenadilla wood) flute and piano (as well as previously Oberheim OBX, JD800 and many other assorted keyboards)and I can get by on electric bass. I also have a Masters degree in Music. As you may have gathered, music is very important to me, but I rarely listen to it as I LIKE MY MUSIC LIVE and live in a very remote place - I hasten to add I can't stand the bagpipes.
