MOODRAS

About Me

What's a moodra? It comes from the sanskrit word mudra, which has many different meanings, one of which is "a hand position used during meditation."Fans say their sound has elements of Grateful Dead, Steely Dan & Counting Crows, but they don't really sound just like anybody. Their musical influences include Allman Brothers, Joni Mitchell, Dylan, Zappa, along with Genesis, Floyd, Phish, and too many others to name.A Moodras show has good songs, great danceable drums, and some of the best vocals you'll hear in a jamband. Guitarist Andy Earl, drummer Katie Pearlman and guitarist John Flaherty all sing lead, and all the members sing harmonies. Moodras' jams have lots of tasty guitar, but plenty of piano and hammond b-3 also. Overall, it's a musical stew with lots of tasty ingredients. Moodras' new CD "What You Don't Know" is available now from CDBaby.com, and will soon be available for download at iTunes and many other sites. If you are a radio station looking for good new music for your listeners, check out Moodras! We are always looking to expand our community of friends and music.
