Lindsey Wells

About Me

The daughter of a country music duo, Lindsey Wells was born listening to the honky tonk sounds of Music City. Nashville, Tennessee was her home until the age of 7, when the ruthless music business and a rocky divorce sent Lindsey and her mother to live with family in San Antonio, Texas. But the seed had already been planted. Lindsey soon began to discover her own passion for singing and writing, despite the distance from the music scene.Lindsey’s mom, Susie Taylor, remarried in 1999 and the two moved to New Orleans, Louisiana where a new dad and brother eagerly awaited. Lindsey’s birth father, Mike Wells, continued to pursue music until his death in 2001. At the age of 14, Lindsey received his one and only possession: a guitar. Her first night playing would later be the inspiration for the powerful and searing song, “Old Guitar.”New Orleans was a nurturing environment for Lindsey’s musical pursuits. Though her time in New Orleans seemed fleeting, she soon found herself preparing for her next big move. Sure enough, her growing passion for music led her to back to Nashville, a city that never stopped feeling like home.Since her arrival at Belmont University in 2004, Lindsey has performed in Soul’d Out, a six-member A Cappella group, as well as The Mary Janes, an all-girl Americana/ Bluegrass band. A double major in Commercial Voice and Music Education has left her with a strengthened talent and an unexpected passion for teaching. She continues to write and record her original songs, and is actively pursuing her dream of founding a Christian Arts Camp for young people.Wide eyed and ready to go, it is no doubt that this girl is living a dream. With her mother’s voice and her father’s guitar, Lindsey is definitely giving Music City a sense of deja vu. But it is her unique combination of honesty, confidence, and undeniable faith that is causing Nashville to take a second look.
