* Our blog "Osborne name origins" covers all of the spellings of the name. People in history were not always so literate as they are today and Osbornes have lived in various places and spoken different languages. When folks did start to write more they just spelled their name as they always heard it, accents, then account for very much variation in spelling. Within my own family, for example, people use 'Osborne' 'Osborn' and 'Osbourne', and especially here in Kentucky they pronounce it more like "Ausbern".
