I wake each morning and sing a prayer song for you; wolf prayer red on cedar dress paddles, wolf prayer red in Salish tongue. I am from the Muckleshoot People, but I am also Yakama, Umatilla & Puyallup. I am a woman of my culture; a woman of prayer, poetry and song. I am a singer with the Muckleshoot Canoe Family, but also, a singer with my extended Tribal Journeys family too. Always, love & respect. I am a poet, playwright and screenwriter. I love the language of poetry just as much as I love spending time with my elders and listening, learning, and growing in the traditional and cultural ways of who we are. Just as much as I love learning how to speak my language. Language is beauty. Language, like the stories, preserve and connect us to the way of life of our ancestors.
Thank you, Siab. Thank you, Tsi Siab. You will always be.-
