About Me

Guitarist, Composer, Music Educator "Goro" Masayuki Negoro was born in June 2nd 1983 in Osaka, raised in Takarazuka, Hyogo, Japan. He attended Koyo conservatory in Kobe, Japan when he was young. He received $11000 scholarship a year from Berklee scholarship fund to go to Berklee college of music. He studied with Terri Lynn Carrington, Hal Crook, George Garzone, Dave Samuels, Mick Goodrick, Tim Miller, Rick Peckham, and many others. He graduated summa cum laude from Berklee in December 2006. Currently, he is attending Queens College for masters degree in jazz performance studying with Paul Bollenbeck, David Berkman, Antonio Hart, Michael Mossman, Howard Brofsky. He played regularly at La Flor, Velvet Lounge, La Cocina, Cristpher's bar, and many other places. Has played at Lincoln ceneter, Apolo theater, Fat Baby, Prospect park, World Peace cafe at SGI Queens Community center, and many other places. Toured to Cleaveland, Ohio. Georgia. Performed with Kenwood Denard, David Berkman, Shunzo Ohno, David Cohen, Towner Galaher, Carl Clements, Samir Zarif, Lars Dietrich, Maria Neckem, Colin Dean and Roots and Grooves, Mike Kammers, David Deej, Nobuki Takamen, and many others
