Rev. Dr. Lemuel R. Bannister, Jr. was born on June 24, 1969 to Lemuel Bannister Sr. and Evang. Cheryl Bannister-Charlton. He is the oldest son and loves his family very much. He has 4 Brothers, Kyle, Michael, Shawn, and Quincye', one sister in love Rochelle, 2 nieces Quortni, and Pheonix, and 2 nephews, Kyle Jr, and Chancellor.He is a product of the West Chester Area School District, where he graduated high school.At the tender age of 11 years old Dr. Bannister accepted the Lord Jesus Christ as his Savior and Lord of his life. At age 15 years old He received the Holy Ghost. As he grew in Christ, he attended Light of Hope Community of Christ Church where the pastor is Rev. James T. Reed, where he served in almost every capacity.During this period in his Christian experience Rev. Bannister began to feel the call and anointing on his life to sing for the Lord. Rev. Bannister has done live concerts and is blessed to have travelled throughout the United States with Rev. Ernest Davis Jr's Wilmington/Chester Mass Choir. He participated in several recordings and was a faithful member for 10 yrs.In addition to recording with WCMC (Wilmington/Chester) he also recorded with Ernest Saunders, Evang. Lisa Dennis, Elder Gerald Pierce, Tracy Shye' Ellis, Dorothy Norwood, Bernard Pinder, and has shared the stage with notable artists such as Yolanda Adams, Kirk Franklin, Pastor Donnie McClurkin, Vickie Winnans, Ce Ce Winnans, The late Rev James Cleveland, Pastor Shirly Ceasar, Kelly Price, The Clark Sisters, Kim Burrell, Patti LaBelle, and many others. Rev. Bannister felt a deeper call to Worship. Rev. Bannister began to minister in song through songs of Praise and Worship and takes great pleasure in leading congregations into go into the presence of the Lord.March 13, 1993, Rev. Bannister preached his trial sermon, "You Are A City Not Forsaken" at the New Jerusalem COGIC, Chester Pa. under the pastorate of Elder L. P. West. where he served for six years.On December 25, 1994, while still under the pastorate of Elder L.P. West, Dr. Bannister was ordained and licensed to preach the Gospel of Jesus Christ.Rev. Bannister has trained at the Foundational Bible Institute in Chester and has achieved several certificates of completion.Currently, Dr. Bannister serves as an associate minister of the Open Door Mission True Light Church located in West Philadelphia where the Pastor is Bishop Maureen L. Davis, DMin.There he has served as a one of the Church Leaders, the head of The Second Chance Prison Ministry, a Praise and Worship Leader, on the Illuminator Staff, The Single's Ministry Advisory Board, taught the New Members Class and has directed the Men's Choir.Rev. Bannister also serves as an advisor to Yeshua Assembly of Churches, in Philadelphia, Pa.Dr. Bannister has a degree in Accounting, and in August 2002 Rev. Bannister received an Honorary Doctorate of Divinity from Highest Power School of Theology in Philadelphia, Pa.The Lord saw fit to call Dr. Bannister to another level in ministry and placed in on the heart of Bishop A. J. Milner to ordain Dr. Bannister as an Elder in the Lords church at The Holy Convocation of The Yeshua Assemblies of Churches, Inc. Holy Convocation 2003.Dr. Bannister has ministered though out the country preaching and singing the praises of God. His strongest desire is to see the body of Christ move into the fullness of God. He has a heart for ministry and the men and women og God.
