About Me

- English- Mishkalè sound like a typical Balcanic band, eight energetic musicians entertaining the audience with whirling, frenzied quick dances. From the shiny brass tuba bells, trumpets and trombones melodies flash like lightning recalling gipsy, Far East and circus festivals. Clarinets, accordions and violins as tight-rope walkers let intense Eastern sounds rise, either melancholy or cheerful. The band throws the audience into a “merry confusion” performing a wide range of music pieces of klezmer and gipsy origin, taken from the various traditions of those populations which for centuries have lived together in the Eastern European countries, giving birth to amazing contaminations. Melodies and rhytms that seem to be coming straight from movies such as Kusturica’s or “Train de Vie”. Considering the audience’s response so far, we must recognise that it is impossibile not to be involved (or carried away) in an atmosphere of great intensity, joy and vitality. Mishkale don’t belong to any cliché and go through sounds and genres with the cheerful freedom of “nomadic musicians”, only following their own inspiration so as to create an eclectic, open and curious music. No frontiers and limits can stop their being playful and unpredictable. The Mishkalé musical background is a heterogeneous one, a mix of classical, jazz or purely folk and ethnic music experience. The musicians, in an incessant mutual transformism, give way to such a peculiar and recognizable sound style. Mishkalé have a remarkable performing curriculum: from the official gigs in popular festivals to brass bands to music for the theatre, to road entertainment. As a real Balcanic orchestra Mishkalé are always at ease among people and in every context they are able to involve the audience who can’t help taking part to their show. You can find them on a stage for a concert, or in a music festival as well as on the street of villages and cities, always ready to entertain and impress the passers-by.Guarda questo video: Firn di Mekhutonim Aheym
