John Wayne Warren (aka WARREN-J), a secret talent in the UK, captivates audiences and listeners with his soulful voice. Like every true artist he is driven by the need to express himself through songs. Citing influences such as Bob Marley, James Ingram, Anita Baker, Luther Vandross, Aretha Franklin, John Wayne has been further inspired to realize his dreams in music. In addition, platforms such as musical programmes in school, and singing in church throughout his childhood and in his young adult years would set the stage to launch John Wayne closer to his dreams. A qualified music teacher in an inner-city secondary school and a current member of the reknowned London Community Gospel Choir he presently leads vocal and choral workshops for young singers. He has, with the choir, travelled around Europe and Africa for various festivals, performing alongside Maya Angelou at the Hay Wye Festival, performing with CeCe Winans (celebrated American Gospel singer) at the World Youth Day 2000 (Italy) before the Pope, opening the main stage Glastonbury, Bishopstock Blues Festival 2001.Also, every December from 2000 - 03 he has had the opportunity to perform in the very high profiled Christmas concert yearly production in Sweden. This show, most times sold out, toured all the major cities in Sweden and have had rave reviews. There he worked alongside reknown Swedish artistes, such as:• Tito Beltran (classical singer), • Kalle Moraeus (musician and presenter extraordinaire) • Sanna Nielson (represented her country two years ago, age sixteen, at the Eurovision competition) • Orsa Spelmän (poplar folk band whose producer is Benny Anderson, who also produced ABBA) • Hej Kalle • Triple and Touch (famous pop band in Sweden)John Wayne’s signature sound can be heard in his single, ‘Love Will Lift Us Higher’, written and co-produced by himself. Love Will Lift Us Higher’ is an up tempo yet melodious back-to-the-roots ballad about two lovers who with, and in, true love can weather the passage of time, flowing like a stream running free. He is currently working on other tracks, using his music skills he has developed as a performer and piano player. These tracks will provide an intimate look into John Wayne’s psyche.
