Profile GeneratorDanick Tardif was born in 1980, in a family of musicians, in Alma, Quebec, Canada. He started playing drums at the age of 12 because of the influence of his father, also a drummer. Since then, his passion for music has been taking him all around.In high school, by being a member of the school..s music ensemble and big band, Danick was able to develop his aptitudes in sight reading and team work. «Défaillance», his first group, came about when Danick was 16 years old, contributing a lot for his stage experience. After finishing his CEGEP studies at «College d..Alma» with the drum teachers Marc Bonneau, Robert Pelletier and Richard Dallaire, Danick entered Concordia University. He has now just completed his Bachelors Degree in Music, during which he studied with Nasir Abdoul Abkabyyr and other masters of music.Among the several styles in which Danick performs are rock, pop, jazz, latin, soul and funk. His biggest influences are John Bonham, Chad Smith, David Garibaldi, Billy Cobham, Horacio Hernandez and others.Danick is currently commited to various projects like his band Sidharta (myspace/Sidharta.com).He played at the showcased his talent at Montreal Drumfest 2004 Yamaha Rising Stars. He is also a drum teacher at Italmelodie music school, in Montreal, since 2002.
