1999 - present: Yves Francois et Rocambu Jazz -- 6 to 9 piece band playing West African and other world music, also New Orleans style jazz, featured on the recordings "Just a Sip of Rocambu", "Aimez-vous Rocambu?", Yves Francois' "Stomp", and an upcoming Rocambu release. 2006: Bucky Halker -- original roots/americana and classic American labor songs, toured Switzerland and Germany as a trio, playing guitar and dobro, with Bucky on vocals and acoustic guitar, Tom P. (John Prine) on electric bass and backing vocals
2006: Tripoli -- original modern pop/prog rock with Gabe Otto and John Knecht, featured on "Tripoli"
2003 - 2006: 9 Miles Band -- original rock, featured on "the 9 miles band", opened for Blue October
2006: Jen Needham Band -- rock, original and covers
2005: Thomas Pace -- original rock/alt-country, featured on his 2005 release "Electrocaine"

2005: Ethan Kaulos -- original rock, opened for Charlie Sexton
2003: Morikeba Kouyate -- traditional Senegalese music featuring Morikeba on kora and vocals, played Chicago world music festival 2003, among other shows

1998 - 2002: Sacred Baboons -- experimental improv trio, featured on "Burton Greene Meets Sacred Baboons" with free jazz pioneer Burton Greene, "Sacred Baboons", and "Sacred Baboons Disk 1 and Disk 2"
1998: Harrison Bankhead Septet -- original jazz/jazz fusion/standards led by the great AACM bassist
1998 - present: Minor Deity -- improvisational duo of guitar and drums, with Michael Tooles
1998 - 2000: Brian Imig -- hammered dulcimer with guitar and dobro
1994 - 2001: Seven Four Slide -- original modern rock/prog w/cello, drums, bass, stick, vocals, guitar, guitar synth Band began in Memphis and move to Chicago in 1998, opened several shows for Jeff Buckley in Memphis just before he passed, also opened for Webb Wilder
1995 - 1998: King Hercules Trio -- improv and jazz fusion trio with Michael Tooles and Tony James, opened for the Bottlerockets
1994 - 1998: Blue Blake -- acoustic blues in the Memphis area
EDUCATIONAL BACKGROUND:
1986: Began playing guitar and had first lesson on August 13 with Memphis blues/rock/slide guitarist Brad Webb (now with Blind Mississippi Morris), studied rock/blues/metal/slide and improvisation
1989: Began studying jazz with Kansas City teacher Jay Eudaly, also began playing guitar in the high school jazz band and taking music theory classes, continued studying with Jay during summers home from college
1990: While attending Vanderbilt University, Nashville, I studied classical guitar with VU professor John Johns while obtaining an electrical engineering degree, taking music classes, and playing in the VU jazz ensemble
1993: Took advantage of living in Nashville by studying with Paul McEwan, fantastic chicken-picker and studio guitarist
1994: Back in Memphis, continued jazz studies with Bob Salley
1998: Began teaching myself to play other stringed instruments including lap steel, dobro, mandolin, and banjo
