COMEDY ON TAP AND FUNNIEST STUDENT 2009
Paramount Comedy On Tap is the hottest comedy event of the student calendar, bringing thousands of students the very best in rising comedians as well as established names performing at 16 universities and over 150 gigs nationwide.
We don’t mean to shamelessly name drop, but past performers at Comedy On Tap have included Jimmy Carr, Dara O’Briain and Alan Carr. Some of the brilliant acts confirmed for 2008/2009 include Jon Richardson, co-presenter of ‘The Russell Howard Show’ and Patrick Monahan, resident warm up for ‘The Paul O'Grady Show’ and host of Paramount Comedy On Tap’s Funniest Student Final at London’s legendary Comedy Store.
Speaking of which, Paramount Comedy on Tap has found its Funniest Student of 2009! After trawling through piles of entries, 6 lucky finalists were picked to perform in the final at the world famous Comedy Store, London on Monday 16th March. Of all the rising stars that performed on the night it was Tom Rosenthal from King's College, London, who shone the brightest.
21-year-old Tom’s award winning set was described by Funniest Student promoter Off The Kerb Productions as “very confident, clever and funny†and covered everything from his distain for pointless Facebook groups to how to how sex is very much like a theme park ride.
As the Funniest Student winner of 2009, Tom, receives money-can’t-buy prizes of gigs courtesy of Alan Carr and Michael McIntyre’s management Off The Kerb Productions and mentoring and advice from Paramount Comedy (soon to be Comedy Central).
