Creole Cowboyz

Creole Cowboyz (yes, that's exactly how it's spelt!) were formed in early 2005, bringing together six similarly-minded mature aged Adelaide musicians. Our main musical genre has it's roots in the Cajun, Creole and Zydeco sounds of the French-African music of Southern Louisiana, two of our members being regular travellers to that part of the world. We take particular pride in the presentation of our music, which frequently features French lyrics and a strong dance beat, and enjoy the opportunity to play numbers that have not been previously showcased in this country. While also sprinkling our repertoire with a modicum of bluegrass and country-influenced songs, we concentrate on maintaining our own rather unique blend of instruments and on-stage energies. All six band members are multi-instrumentalists, lead and harmony vocals are shared between five; as a consequence, a typical Cowboyz set can contain a vast array of musical contrast. The Boyz have always referred to our music as "GATOR MUSIC" however a recent mishap at the Kapunda Celtic Festival with a little feathered friend has us considering a change to "CHICKEN MUSIC".
