I am here for Friends and Networking

About Me

I'm 26 years old, and I was born and raised in Middle River, Maryland. I come from a tight-knit family and we've always worked hard to care for each other and spread the love. And now, I'm happily married to a very lovely woman named Dawn. She and I tied the knot on July 28, 2007! She's definitely "the one," and I can't imagine life without her. We actually met through Myspace (ask me about that sometime; it's a good story). Dawn's family is really cool, too :)I'm often considered the "nice guy" among all my friends, co-workers, and everyone else who knows me. But I believe this reputation has helped me keep the friends I have and will keep ..ing me in the long run. And I'm going to keep the faith in them and help them succeed in their goals too!Speaking of faith... I'm a Christian who professes faith in Jesus. He has allowed me to keep going even on those days I didn't feel like going on. And I'm thankful to Him He's brought me into a new church family where I can get encouragement from God's Word. Also, I'm an Eagle Scout, and I consider this to be more than just a rank... It's a way of life. Being a part of the Boy Scout troop I was in while growing up is something I take great pride in and I'll always treasure those memories.Hopefully we'll meet in person someday (if we haven't already)... and I'll share with you my life story!

My Interests

Hockey, football (playing and watching), ice skating (even though I'm not too good!), Boy Scouts (a wonderful organization!), camping, hiking, swimming, watching movies, spending time with my family, drawing, painting, reading, and writing.

I'd like to meet:

Alive people: Mario Lemieux, David Letterman, Bernard Goldberg, John McCain, Joe Lieberman, Dan Marino, Mike Eruzione, Jim Craig...Dead people: Leonardo Da Vinci, Michelangelo, Pablo Picasso, Leo Tolstoy, William Shakespeare, Thomas Jefferson, John Adams, Mahatma Gandhi, Martin Luther King, Herb Brooks

Music:

I'll pretty much listen to anything except country and oldies. Laltely I find myself listening to a lot more Gospel music, particularly Hezekiah Walker and Kirk Franklin. Anything that praises the Lord Jesus Christ is good, though! If I'm listening to anyhting secular, it's usually something by Sting.

Movies:

My all-time favorite is Jaws! I like the comic dialogue between Robert Shaw and Richard Dreyfuss especially. After that, I like a lot of action and historical, epic dramas... Schindler's List, Gladiator and Braveheart come to mind right away. Of course I'm a big Star Wars nut... and Aliens, Jurassic Park and Independence Day are very cool popcorn action flicks. I also like Miracle (the best feel-good movie ever!). And there are plenty of comedies I like... Raising Arizona, Ferris Bueller's Day Off, Groundhog Day, What About Bob?, The Nutty Professor (Eddie Murphy version), The Money Pit, and probably a lot more I can't think of right now!

Television:

Most of my favorite shows are no longer in first-run, so I watch in syndication or on DVD. Seinfeld is definitely my favorite show of all time, and Everybody Loves Raymond is a close second. I'll watch some of the old classic whenever I can, just to see what they were like... All in the Family, The Jeffersons, and Sanford & Son are pretty funny, even nowadays. I do like some crime dramas, like NYPD Blue and Law & Order: Special Victims Unit. If I'm up late, I'm watching David Letterman or MadTV... if even later, I'm watching Conan O'Brien!

Books:

My favorite is War & Peace, hands down! I also like Anna Karenina, Paradise Lost, a lot of political and social commentary books (especially Bias), and anything by William Shakespeare (especially Macbeth, Twelfth Night, and The Merchant of Venice). And of course, the Bible...THE source of good news for when you're tired of reading all the bad news in the Baltimore Sun!

Heroes:

Mario Lemieux is my hero because of how he's battled through all sorts of illnesses and injuries (including Hodgkin's), yet has proven he's one of the greatest ever to play ice hockey. Leo Tolstory and William Shakespeare because they wrote some of the best literature of all-time. Leonardo Da Vinci and Michelangelo because of their sheer genius, talent, and courage to stand up for what they believed in. My scoutmaster is my hero because he's become a second father to me and helped me on the path to me becoming an Eagle Scout. And my parents and grandparents... even on the days I didn't listen to them or cared if they were around, they've loved me since day one... and thank God I'm in the family I'm in because of the love they've always shown for me.
