About Me
This is the myspace-performance of the German based indie label "Eat The Beat Music"
Our Philosophy:
MORE ROCK - LESS BULLSHIT
Our label motto says it all. So why keep talking about ourselves when the main focus is on the music of our acts which speaks for itself.
Be it the Punk Rock-Hardcore-Metal mix a l Days In Grief, Southside Moshrock of Nme.Mine, Indie Rock of Three.Minute.Poetry, New Zealand Kiwi-Punk of Sommerset, Elekto-Indie-Power-Pop of Junias, Disco-Core of The Coalfield or even Progressive-Metal-Jazz-Core of The Anti Doctrine...
All these bands reflect our feeling and attitude towards music: Emotional but also "in your face", hand-made with heavy riffs? Sure, help yourselves! And if possible also something you can sing along and tap your feet to? No problem! Whether they're newcomer bands or established acts, national or international, they're all equally important to us.
A label for guitar addicts - just check out our Downloads section and see for yourselves.
If you really like a band please do us and more importantly all our bands a favour and buy the record instead of copying it. We will always offer free mp3s on our webpage as of course, who wants to buy a pig in a poke? But we can only continue with ETB if you give us your support. Thank you!
Who's behind ETB and when did they start? Officially the label was founded by Frank and myself, Chris, in November 2003. Before that I was working in band management (which is how ETB eventually started) and earlier while working for another record company I learnt how NOT to run a label these days. Frank comes from a different background but we've known each other for a long time having played together in a band, but let's not talk about this now. Andrea has joined us in the Summer of 2004 and is looking after all our booking activities.
In October 2004 ETB have signed a worldwide label deal with Roadrunner Records but will remain independent meaning all decisions relating to product, artwork, promotion, marketing etc. will be made solely by ETB and our acts. Distribution is via Roadrunner Records/Universal Music.
In the beginning Frank and I, supported by many dedicated helpers, have done all the label work ourselves. During that time we still had a distribution deal with Pirate Records/Sony Music. Now we profit from the network structure of Roadrunner Records in the fields of promotion and distribution which has, of course, also opened many new doors for us. Since October 2004 we've been sharing our office next door to Roadrunner on the same floor while Andrea is still holding the fort in our new "booking office" situated at our 'original office' in the city centre.
This leads us to the next subject: As a location Cologne is also very important to ETB - call it local patriotism. After all, the world should finally know all about the "Rock City Cologne" it has much more to offer than BAP, Die Hhner and Brings! Just check out New Movements and our Ringfest activities in the last two years - Ringfest 2003 and Ringfest 2004. The sites speak for themselves.
What is more, we have now also got our own publishing edition. Together with our partner RADAR MUSIK we are trying to also establish our acts in this area.
Why have we founded the label? Because we were just nuts ! Well, for one (and there are so many other reasons all based on our "passion for music"): We too want to change the world!! Asking our opinion on the German charts ,so far there's always been the same reply: "Every country has the charts it deserves but we haven't given up on Germany yet."
There you are have it
MORE ROCK - LESS BULLSHIT
