Maurice Farmer, Jr. was born and raised in Memphis Tn.in a single parent home. Mother Joyce Farmer raised all six of his siblings. Maurice started young with the gift to play music. He started playing the flute recorder in the fifth grade. Ever since then Maurice was determined to be different. So he learned to play 12 instruments. Maurice persued music afterwards, Music was his favorite subject in school. After Maurice was recruited to Nashville in 2001 to obtain a Degree in Commercial Music and to be apart of the Aristocrat of bands at Tennessee State University, He knew music was one of the gifts God had granted unto him and blessed him with. Romans 12:6-8 So he used his gift in every way teaching, playing,and living the life of music. Maurice has been blessed to play in the Macy's Thanksgiving parade, in New York City. He also played on the David Letterman show. Maurice has been all over doing what God has called him to do, which is ministering through music. Continuing toward our goal. Philippians:3 12-21. Maurice has also been granted the opportunity to play for the TAFC ministry. "When the Lights go Out" Christian play Featuring Alvin Moore. Maurice also played for the tenth president of Meharry Medical College at the Schermohorn Symphony Center,"The wizard of ox" play with the Street group, also had the opportunity to play with the great Saxophonist Joe Johnson and the great Pianist Derrick Jackson at the Higher Dimension Conference at Cathedral of Praise Church. Featuring Vicki Winans, Otis Locket, Jamal Bryant, Donnie McClurkin."A Mothers Prayer" with Robin Givens, Shirley Murdock, Jermaine Crawford and Johnny Gill. Will Graves, Dave Hollister in Memphis. Maurice has been mentoring for nearly six years, Ross Elementary, McCgruder Family resource center, Westwood community center mentoree big Brother, Moves and grooves Inc, St. Luke, Youth Encouragement Center, Piano lessons for the youth, Kairos Children Ministry. Maurice participates in the ministry at Kairos Cummunity Church, and Judah Temple of Praise baptist Church. With God all things are possible.
