About Me

Hello all, my name is Lemar Guillary I am a Jazz Trombonist from South Central Los Angeles. I am currently 22 years of age. I am very happy and blessed to say that my resume is forever getting wider if you will. Along these lines this year I got my biggest break to date. I was recommended to The Dirty Dozen Brass band as a capable tuba player for their group. I am back now off a month tour with The Dirty Dozen and back in LA for a short time. I will be starting and finishing my undergraduate work at The New School for Jazz and Contemporary Music, in New York City. Other then that I gig and practice all day. I will be leaving Los Angeles August 26, 2006 for my four year undergraduate studies at New School. I hope you guys enjoy my site. I cant wait to move to New York. Band Members: I perform in a number of groups. L. Scatterbrain and the Numerous Cats, Tony Harris Big Band, Starting my own Combo Group this year, Usc Trojan Marching band, Usc Big Band.
Influences: My influences are mostly be-boppers from Charlie Parker to present. I think my biggest influence would be J.J. Johnson. He was one of those cats that wanted to make a difference on his horn. I think that means a lot. I think a lot of guys now try to copy the style of other players but J.J. created his own.
