About Me

[Enjoy The Music!]
***Note*** I am not the owner of none of these songs. Evanescence is the original owners of them. I don't know or am able to contact Evanescence in any way. I bought the songs with my own money. I am only using the songs I choose to show people how Evanescence's music was before they became famous and got a record deal. I will REPEAT ONE MORE TIME, I DO NOT KNOW OR AM ABLE TO CONTACT Evanescence IN ANY WAY! This is just to entertain people who love Evanescence and myself, PERIOD. ***
If you ever want to talk to me on a personal level or just want to get to know me in anyway then add my profile! ^_^ I wouldn't mind talking to new people! ♥
My Personal Profile
[Full Def.] Evanescence = the act or state of gradually fading or vanishing away - disappearance; as, the evanescence of vapor, of a dream, of earthly plans or hopes or of the morning mist
About the band: Evanescence is from Little Rock, Arkansas. Ben Moody & Amy Lee met when Amy was playing a song on a piano at a summer camp they both went to. Both known as outcasts they hung out together. Amy would always ask her mom if she could go to Ben's house to hang out. That is where they wrote lyrics and started the whole idea of making music. First both Amy & Ben decided to give this project a name so they looked through the dictionary for interesting words. They came across the word Evanescence [look at def. above this]. They soon started to collect equipment to begin building a recording studio in Ben's house. Their first song to be heard was a 7 minutes track called "Understanding". After that they would play live shows but not much due to money. When they did have gigs they would sell any of their demo cds. Their first CD to be released was Evanescence EP on December 1998 or January 1999 with only 100 copies made. The cd also included guests such as drummer Matt Outlaw, and two former band mates William Boyd on bass and guitar and Rocky Gray on drums. The cd had 7 tracks:
1)Where will you go
2)Solitude
3)Imaginary
4)Exodus
5)So Close
6)Understanding
7)The End
The next cd they released during the summer was Whisper/Sound Asleep EP of August 1999. This cd only had 50 copies and had 6 tracks which were:
1)Give unto me (Sound Asleep)
2)Whisper
3)Understanding (Sound Asleep Version)
4)Forgive me
5)Understanding (Original Version)
6)Ascension of the spirit
Towards the end of 1999, Amy Lee and Ben Moody decided to add David Hodges as a full member of Evanescence. Not soon after the band had enough tracks to make a full album. This album is will known as Origin. It was released on November 4, 2000 at the Little Rock River Market Pavilion gig. This cd was made up of 11 tracks which were:
1)Origin
2)Whisper
3)Imaginary
4)My immortal
5)Where will you go
6)Field of innocence
7)Even In Death
8)Anywhere
9)Lies
10)Away from me
11)Eternal
This cd included three songs that people know from Fallen, which is "My Immortal," "Whisper," and "Imaginary." By fate, one day while working on another demo at Ardent Studios in Memphis, Tennessee a producer by the name of Pete Matthews overheard Evanescence playing. He knocked on their door, introduced himself and asked if he could get a better listen. He said he would take their demo to NYC to let a record company hear it. As Amy was alone around Christmas time, on her birthday, studying for finals she got the news that they were called to go to New York from Ben. Wind-up records didn't want any artist that just wanted a deal to make a quick buck. They wanted someone who loved what they did and people who stuck to it. Therefore Amy and Ben signed their names on the dotted line and got a record deal with Wind-Up Records.
