Influences: Some of the best Chicago has ever had. Junior Wells, backed up by Jimmy Johnson and Buddy Guy for a timeless classic with Chi-town fury!!
A great example of Chicago style blues from the short-lived Magic Sam. Check out how the drummer keeps his wallet right in front of him on stage. Was that a damping technique or just a rough club in Chi-town?!
Are you kidding? Who wasn't influenced by Led Zeppelin. Here they are showing tremendous blues power:
As the man says, "From Los Angeles California, The Fabulous T-Bone Walker." Check out how he holds that BEAUTIFUL Gibson hollow-body guitar.
Albert Collins, the master of the Telecaster.
Miles Davis & John Coltrane - So What (1959)
Sounds Like:
...a guy who soaked up music from a million directions while lucky enough to grow up in Chicago: blues from "Wise Fools Pub," Copeland at the Chicago Symphony, Metal from the Cabaret Metro and Aragon "Brawl"-room, and sing-along during the 7th inning stretches at Wrigley Field. Also, my parents AWESOME record collection: Spike Jones on 78's, original Elvis 45's, The Beatles, and Motown.I brought all that to the South, just to learn music all over again in the birth-place of the blues...
