Hi, I'm Carrie and...
YES There really was a "Buckshot Babe"!
Lillian Desmond was born in North Dakota,
the youngest of a large family, and she was immediately nicknamed "Babe".
She taught in one-room school houses all over in early North Dakota and Montana, was a censor for the U.S. military in Panama, traveled extensively and even went to Russia when it was still under communist rule.
Babe was a frontier lady of class!
She was always a forward-thinker, a believer in education, a historian, a collector of beauty and memories.
Upon her death in 1995, her handgun license from the 1940’s was found in her possessions...
and thus was born the Legend of Buckshot Babe!
In the spirit of her life, me and my sister Gayle have gathered this collection for your enjoyment and we hope you find a unique western treasure that will leave you with a lasting impression!
Buckshot Babe’s first retail location opened in February, 2004 in Wickenburg, Arizona in the original Helm Bath & Barber Shop that was built in 1910.
Feel free to come visit our Retail location located at

The Red Hat Connection...
If there would have been a Red Hat organization when our Auntie Babe was alive, she would have been the Queen Mum!
We celebrate "Red Hat Rendezvous" on the second week of each February, in her honor.
This year it will be held Friday, February the 8th.
If you would like to receive information on this fun event, drop us an email!
When you come to the shop, you'll meet "West" who is happy to greet all our visitors at the door.
