I mean people have prophesied and said I'm going to be great at this, or powerful at that; and I just could never see any greatness in me. Actually, I still struggle with it. But one day God got my attention through a crisis. This may not seem like a crisis to some, but it was to me. Even though I have survived death as an infant, death as a teen, death as an adult and was healed from lupus, nothing seemed more devastating as the crisis of losing all of my hair. No, it wasn't lost to cancer, or any other illness; just here today and then gone tonight! You may wonder, "why your hair". Well, growing up as a child and even today I have low-self esteem as a result of being overweight. People would complement others but when they looked at me, the best thing they could find to say was "You have such beautiful think hair." Hmm. So, you look past everything else and all you see is my hair. Okay, that became my knowledge of beauty. I believed all the other lies that people fed into my soul. But the only thing I could decipher or receive as truth was my beauty was my hair. It took God taking what He said in the Bible was a woman's glory (her hair) for me to hear what He had wanted me to know all of my life; that I am created in HIS image therefore I am--every part of me; I am---every pound of me is beautifully and wonderfuly made. God empowered me to realize who I am in Him. God empowered me to realize that there is purpose for my life. God empowered me to empower others. {}
